About the University
The University of Dundee (UoD) is a highly respected institution of higher education that is recognized globally for its excellence in both education and research.
The strong academic team within the Unit of Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology has displayed high standards of management and development of new concepts in educational delivery and has both a national and international reputation in matters pertaining to Human Identification and DVI both at home and overseas. Within the UoD, the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification is one of the very few facilities in the UK offering whole body dissection, and therefore retains capacity re the availability of human cadavers for realistic training purposes. The UoD enjoys an excellent academic reputation as one of Scotland's leading universities.

College of Life Sciences
The College of Life Sciences is led by Vice Principal Professor Peter Downes, and is organized into two schools i.e. Research and Learning & Teaching. The School of Research comprises some 70 research groups and includes scientists from over 50 different countries, attracting over £23M p.a. in research funding. The Research School is largely housed within the James Black Centre, the Wellcome Trust Biocentre and the Medical Sciences Institute.
Anatomy & Forensic Anthropology
This unit, located in the Medical Sciences Institute, is led by Professor Sue Black and all members of her staff are registered experts with the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners (CRFP), the NCPE expert directory and with CIFA, the partner organization contracted to the British government to supply all technical, medical and scientific personnel to the UK DVI team.
